WHO WE ARE
THE ORGANISATION was formed in 1958 as an NGO and in 1974 MMHA was officially recognised by the Mauritian Government through an Act of Parliament.
Originally a consultation centre for people suffering from mental health problems,
in the 1960s MMHA refocussed to cater for the needs
of people with intellectual disabilities.
